How to Access the Chinese E-commerce Market Webinar dives into important China trade topics for U.S. exporters, such as the Chinese e-commerce market and its consumers, Chinese appetite for California products, the export opportunities for U.S. businesses on Tmall, and local support and resources from the Sacramento MBDA Export Center and Bay Area Council.
The Sacramento MBDA Export Center and Bay Area Council partnered together to present How to Access the Chinese E-Commerce Market Webinar. Despite the negative impacts the pandemic has had on traditional business practices, the e-commerce market is booming due to global quarantine and stay-at-home orders. This webinar provided insight into the rapidly growing Chinese e-commerce market and introduced market entry opportunities for California businesses on the leading Chinese e-commerce platform, Tmall.
The Bay Area Council is a unique network of private sector companies, government representatives, and research institutions with 13 years of experience in promoting business opportunities, trade, and investment between San Francisco/Silicon Valley Bay Area and China. They have dedicated experts in 5 offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing. Along with the CalAsian Chamber, the Bay Area Council is a member of China Trade and Investment Network, which was initiated by Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) to support trade and government relations initiatives.
In order to provide Californian producers and exporters with a simple gateway to access Chinese consumers, the Bay Area Council has partnered with MEBO Group to create a cross-border e-commerce retail platform that minimizes costs and facilitates business expansion to China. The two organizations began working together in 2017 to support California-China relations and trade and have since expanded their cooperation to build more resources for cross-border exchanges.
Key industries include dried manufactured food products, cosmetics, vitamins/supplements, and other consumer goods. Please review the webinar recording below and reach out to the Sacramento MBDA Export Center for questions and resources about this opportunity.
